Sidewalk surfing through unique waves.

Photo Tip-
→ Lenses with different focal lengths drastically change the size and scale of objects in the foreground, and background. Check out the last 3 frames to see how different the volcano looks relative to the bridge.

A longer the focal length (100mm), compresses the foreground and background, and makes the mountain appear much larger and closer.

A wide angle lens (14mm) will make the foreground look large and the background look really small.

You can use this as a tool to create certain perspectives depending on what you’re trying to highlight or convey in your image. I thought the 100mm lens compressing the mountain through the bridge worked best for this. Thoughts?

‘From Kurils With Love’ ... I sat down and watched a festival cut of the new film with my family last night. It brought my right back to this life changing experience we had last summer documenting scientist Vladamir Burkanov’s mission to protect & document the wildlife population of these islands. @taylorfreesolo did a masterful job directing along with @renan_ozturk who shot this beautiful drone panorama.
I’m still pinching myself that the stars aligned and this expedition took place. The film is currently touring online festivals & will soon be available for all to see! I hope the visuals bring you the same emotion I felt capturing them!
